WHAT ARE CHAKRAS?
The word ‘chakra’ comes from Sanskrit and means ‘wheel’. They are energy centres that run from your butt to the top of your spinal cord in a straight line. The three bottom chakras connect you to the earth, the top three to the universe. The heart chakra is the connection between the earth and the cosmos. In the most optimal situation, all chakras are open and exchange valuable information with the energy field around you: your aura. Blockages can occur if negative energy affects your chakras through your aura. A blockage in one chakra can affect your entire well-being because all chakras are connected to each other and with different parts of the body. With the help of gems, you can rebalance your chakras. The 7 chakras have each their own colour.
Chakra 1: Muladhara – root chakra
Colour: red.
Power: earth, perseverance, courage, energy, zest for life.
Element: earth.
Location: tailbone.
Mineral stones: jaspis, onyx, ruby, garnet, black tourmaline, obsidian, hematite and smoky quartz.
Chakra 2: Svadhistana – sacraal chakra
Colour: orange.
Power: zest for life, creativity.
Element: water.
Location: just below belly button.
Mineral stones: calcite, carnelian, fire opal, tigereye, citrine, topaz, moonstone and red jaspis.
Chakra 3: Manipura – solar plexus
Colour: yellow/gold.
Strength: self-image, personal strength, self-assurance, responsibility and reliability.
Element: fire.
Location: stomach area just below the ribs.
Mineral stones: ametrine, amber, citrine, yellow aventurine, yellow jasper, gold labradorite, gold topaz and tiger eye.
Chakra 4: Anahata – heart chakra
Colour: green.
Strength: emotional intelligence, compassion, caring, self-respect, unconditional love.
Element: air.
Location: heart region.
Mineral stones: jade, green aventurine, kunzite, malachite, peridot, prehnite, rhodochrosite, rhodonite, rose quartz, serpentine and emerald.
Chakra 5: Vishuddha – throat chakra
Colour: light blue.
Strength: self-expression.
Element: ether.
Location: neck vertebrae / larynx.
Mineral stones: angelite, aquamarine, blue calcite, blue chalcedony, celestite and turquoise.
Chakra 6: Ajna – third eye
Colour: indigo
Strength: intuition, insight, wisdom.
Element: light.
Location: between/above the eyebrows
